Flip
your fins in our bins
The newly formed
Momentary Arts Project needs your old, broken or odd flippers to create a
Marine Christmas Art Installation to bring to life the windows of one of the
empty units at Marine Point, New Brighton.
The idea to utilise
the empty unit for an art exhibition was the brainchild of local resident Carl
Leckey OBE, and with the support of local artists and Neptune his idea will
become reality in time for Christmas.
Carl Leckey said, “I had an idea and Neptune said Yes. So to the Artists I said with a grin,
it's over to you now, so let's begin.
I don't have a clue what they will create, something flippin’ fabulous,
I just can't wait.”
Flippers and fins
of all shapes and sizes, along with buoys and other small colourful light
weight marine items will be used to give the Christmas installation a
watery/seaside feel. Any items you
have to donate can be flipped in the Fin Bins at Clatterbridge, Bidston and
West Kirby recycling plants (thanks to Veolia Environmental Services). The fin bins will be in place from now until 9th of December and can also be delivered to The Green Community Shop and Centre in Oxton Village
